I was waiting in the second class waiting room in the Howrah Station, Kolkata. I have seen umpteen kids, but none like this one gave me a ceaseless glance. It really put me to question. Did it find the silence in me calm and peaceful or did it find a resonance of his innocence being matched with that of mine? This child did not only capture my attention but tow yards away from it were one couple, looking at it with a closely knit smiling glance.. This child is ‘in’ and ‘with’ the presence of its parents. As my mind spontaneously moved I went into a prayerful mood. My prayers went up:
May my mind and heart be open to the unveiling of the mysterious silence that resonates with the overwhelming innocence. May my soul rejoice at the promise of Christ: “I am with you.” Let my belief be confirmed with the sayings of Don Bosco: “Let nothing perturb you.”
